Peaceful Drifters

Dotting the skies of Raldete, drakkles of many different forms can be found almost anywhere magic is felt. These small creatures resemble sea horses the size of cats, and are mostly docile. Due to their nature, they often end up at the bottom of the food chain.

Floating about in the skies, drakkles feed off the residual magic in the air. Due to their diet, drakkles are one of the few animals in Raldete that naturally produce mana crystals throughout their lifespans. This makes them a highly sought after quarry for many a hunters looking to supply mercantile demands.

Some variants throughout the world!

Despite being heavily hunted by hunters and predators alike, drakkles are still one of the most common animals in the world. Their capability to adapt to any environment means that one can find different variant of drakkles anywhere, each with different elemental crystals based on the magic they have consumed. We now come to the end for this dev blog entry, and we hope to see you again in the next update!

The Mentor

Kentaro wasn't always the great hunter he is today. Learning from one of the best, he was taught how to hunt by his own father from a young age. However when his father disappeared, the role fell to one of his surviving crew. Today we shall take a look at the felyne that helped refine Kentaro's skills.

As the only surviving crew member of the legendary Wind-hunters, Slyph has remained a figure causing mixed emotions for Kentaro. While he admires her skills as a huntress, she constantly reminds him of his father's demise. Agile and focused, she displays great skill and accuracy with her crossbow as she joins Kentaro in his hunts, often chiding him for his impulsive nature.

With an affinity for wind magic, Slyph is known to be capable of even trapping larger beasts mid-flight, doubtlessly a valuable ability that helped her keep up with Kentaro's father. Under her guidance, will Kentaro succeed in proving himself as a worthy successor to his father's legacy? Please stay tuned for our next dev blog update!
